MasonrySaver Non-Etching Water Repellent
VOC Compliant Solvent Base Water Repellent, Doesn't Etch Glass Windows
MasonrySaver® Non-Etching Water Repellent Water Repellent is a penetrating water repellent which contains 7% solids proprietary silane in an alcohol carrier. The silane penetrates most masonry and concrete pores and capillaries up to 1/4 inch or more depending on surface porosity and moisture content at the time of application.
Most silane/siloxane water repellents will etch glass when overspray is allowed to dry on windows. This product is designed to easily wipe off windows or other glass surfaces if overspray gets on them.
MasonrySaver® Non-Etching Water Repellent Water Repellent reacts with the silica in concrete and masonry in the presence of ultraviolet light and atmospheric moisture. This reaction forms strong permanent bonds beneath the surface and creates a hydrophobic zone that prevents water molecules from penetrating, while allowing free migration of water vapors. The chemical bonds formed in this process allow the product to become an integral part of the substrate and provide long-term water repellent protection.
Product Uses
MasonrySaver® Non-Etching Water Repellent can be used on vertical above-grade concrete, precast or cast-in-place, clay brick, mortars, and natural stone. Natural substrate color and surface textures are unaffected, with little or no gloss created, however, over-application can cause substrate darkening. Testing is recommended before treating any surface to ensure desired results.
Product Benefits
- Won't Etch Glass
- 100% Water Vapor Permeable
- Stain/Efflorescence Protection
- Protects from Acid Rain
- Mildew/Fungus Resistant
- Freeze/Thaw Protection
- Seven Year Warranty
Application Precautions
Clean overspray or spillage immediately before evaporation of the solvent, with a dry cloth. Contact with glass or metal will not harm these surfaces. Overspray of MasonrySaver® Non-Etching Water Repellent should evaporate from these surfaces or can be easily removed during normal window washing procedures.
Protect materials which can be damaged such as: glazing, plastic, lexan, shrubs, plant life, asphalt materials, membrane roofing, bare or primed metal surfaces to be painted, other non-masonry, dense and non-porous surfaces.
Certain types of stucco, architectural concrete, and stabilized adobe may "bleed" in the presence of solvents, which could result in discoloration. Test for compatibility in an inconspicuous area before treating any surface.
