Use HeatShield Cerfractory Foam Smoke Chamber Sealant to:

  • Seal gaps and exposed brick cores in fireplace smoke chambers.
  • Insulate fireplace smoke chambers for added safety.
  • Smooth jagged edges, corbels and reshape the smoke chamber for increased performance.


Apply over masonry in smoke chamber Expands up to an additional 50% of its volume as it cures Resists temperatures up to 2910°F Sticks to most anything


For spray application into smoke chambers that service residential solid-fuel and gas burning fireplaces.


Provide good ventilation if dust is created. The use of NIOSH approved respirator for dusts including silica in compliance with OSHA, STD 29.CFR 1910.134, protective gloves and goggles are recommended. See SDS for additional precautions.

Install and Use Only in Accordance with the Cerfractory Foam Installation and Maintenance Instructions.

This smoke chamber material is to be installed at a minimum thickness of 1 ½ ” in a smoke chamber constructed of 4”nominal thickness (or greater) masonry and where there is a minimum clearance of zero inch air space between combustible materials and the smoke chamber exterior.

For use only with residential masonry fireplaces that burn either solid-fuel or gas.

HeatShield Cerfractory Foam Smoke Chamber Sealant meets and or exceeds all of the national and local building codes for new construction and repairs of masonry fireplaces and chimneys. Not suitable for food storage or food preparation areas.

Meets: ASTM C-199 (Super Duty), and is non-water soluble when cured.
