ChimneySaver Advanced Water Repellent is specifically designed to shield masonry chimneys from the harmful effects of water and waterborne chemicals. It effectively prevents water penetration and damage caused by water. ChimneySaver Advanced Water Repellent utilizes a unique polysiloxane compound that showcases exceptional performance, rivaling that of a solvent-based product. This specially formulated compound enables the water repellent to effectively penetrate through existing penetrating water repellents (water or solvent based), setting it apart from the standard ChimneySaver Water-Base. As a result, ChimneySaver Advanced offers reliable and long-lasting protection for masonry chimneys, making it an excellent choice for both initial applications and re-treatments.

The unique formulation is not a surface coating.  It penetrates into treated surfaces and bonds with the surface to provide long lasting protection against water penetration, even at hairline cracks. ChimneySaver Advanced will not change or alter the color or appearance of compatible treated surfaces. ChimneySaver becomes water repellent after 4-6 hours of exposure to UV light and atmospheric moisture and increases in strength for several weeks after treatment. It is 100% vapor permeable and allows water vapor produced during the combustion process to escape from the chimney.

ChimneySaver Advanced Water Repellent protects most vertical and horizontal exterior, above-grade masonry surfaces including Adobe; Architectural Concrete, Precast or Cast-in-Place; Clay Brick; Mortars; Natural Stone; Limestone; Granite; Sandstone; Terra Cotta; Exposed Aggregate Products; Portland Cement Stuccos and Concrete Masonry Units.
Natural substrate color and surface textures are unaffected, with little or no gloss created. Slight darkening may occur on dense surfaces. Testing is recommended before treating any surface to ensure desired results.

Surfaces treated with ChimneySaver Advanced Water Repellent may be painted with a high-quality oil-based paint. Testing is always necessary to ensure adhesion and compatibility.

Long Term Protection With This Clear, Brick Water Repellent

This Zero VOC brick waterproofer penetrates concrete and masonry and reacts with the minerals in the concrete and masonry in the presence of ultraviolet light and atmospheric moisture. This reaction forms strong permanent bonds beneath the surface to create a hydrophobic zone that prevents water molecules from penetrating while still allowing free migration of water vapors. The chemical bonds formed during this process become an integral part of the substrate and provide long-term water repellent protection. Before this product can be applied, tuck pointing and repairs must be completed three days prior and new masonry must be cured for a minimum of 28 days.
